Tsunul Biological Reserve Experiences

 

Welcome to Tsunul Reserve, a remote off-grid sanctuary 20 minutes south of Mérida, Yucatán, restoring tropical dry forest with a stunning private cenote (limited guided access).

 

We offer 3 basic shared rooms with bunk beds (max 6 overnight guests).

 

All overnight stays include breakfast and one complimentary skill workshop per day.

 

Add up to 2 extra workshops per day.

 

Day visitors are welcome for individual workshops or packages.​

 

Prices per person in MXN (current rates apply – pay in pesos).

Overnight Accommodation

 

Basic Bunkbed Stay (per night, shared room)

 

Simple, eco-friendly off-grid lodging. Includes breakfast (fresh fruits, coffee/tea, local breads or tortillas) + 1 skill workshop per day. 1,080 MXN

 

Add Extra Workshop (up to 2 per day) 450 MXN each

 

Additional Meals (prepared with local/reserve ingredients)

Lunch (vegetarian/plant-based): 215 MXN

Dinner (hearty, often fire-cooked): 325 MXN​

Skill Workshops

Hands-on, small-group (4–10 people) experiences led by local experts or reserve hosts. Each 2–4 hours, focused on wellness, culture, resilience, and regeneration in our tropical dry forest and cenote setting.​

  1. From Pod to Potion: Traditional Cacao to Chocolate-inspired journey: open pods, grind on metate, create sacred drink and candies. Tasting included. 630 MXN

  2. From Cherry to Cup: Traditional Mexican Coffee: A taste experience. Explore shade-grown coffee, roast, grind, and brew authentic café de olla with piloncillo and cinnamon. 630 MXN

  3. Tropical Tranquility: Stress Relief Through Meditation Guided breathing, body scan, and nature mindfulness. Perfect calm immersion using jungle sounds and fresh air. 630 MXN (or included/add-on)

  4. Tropical Disaster Preparedness: Essential Survival Skills Naval-engineer led: go-bag, water purification, shelter, fire, basic first aid – practical and empowering. 630 MXN

  5. Apocalypse-Proof Living: Resilient Off-Grid Systems Tour real systems: rainwater harvesting, food forest, composting, simple energy. Hands-on resilience. 630 MXN

  6. Biodiversity Photography & Identification Adventure Learn phone photography tips + use apps (iNaturalist/Merlin) to capture and ID plants, birds, insects. 630 MXN

  7. Secrets to a Long, Vibrant Life Nutrition close to the source, gentle yoga in nature, meditation, and natural supplement discussion. 630 MXN

  8. Dawn Birdwatching & Species Identification Early-morning magic: spot toh, parrots, hummingbirds with binoculars and apps. Includes light breakfast. 630 MXN

  9. Regenerative Tree Planting & Habitat Restoration Plant native trees, learn regenerative techniques, and directly support forest recovery. Includes adoption certificate. 630 MXN

  10. Mindful Jungle Hiking with Outdoor Meditation: Slow sensory forest bathing walk ending with relaxing meditation. 630 MXN

  • Workshops run most days (weather permitting); dawn activities start early to beat the heat.
